Background Investigations
This is a 40 hour New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy (NMLEA) Accredited course in Background Investigations. It is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of background investigations, what is legal and what is not, and what information is available. The focus of the class covers the following areas:
  • Criminal
  • Civil
  • Assets
  • Associations
  • Credit
  • Newspaper Morque
  • Court Records
  • Driver’s license
  • Education
  • Residence history

Latent Finger Printing
This class will introduce the student to the basic skills and practices, which enable the student to successfully identify and lift latent finger prints.

Objectives of the class:
  • Will identify the nine different fingerprint patterns.
  • Will correctly demonstrate the use of Latent Black Print Powder, Magnetic Latent White Print Powder, chemical called Ninhydrin spray, and chemical called Hydro-Print Wet Latent Print Developer.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technique for lifting 10 out of 10 prints.
  • To successfully identify the ridge characteristics by which fingerprint identification is determined.

Customer Service Training
"Mixed Messages" - Customer Service - Dealing with the Public


First impressions are crucial to good customer service. This class includes five specific areas that will improve the employee’s understanding as to their degree of Customer Service.
  • Body Language – is what your body saying consistent with what you are verbalizing? How to send a consistent Cooperative Message
  • Verbal Communication – It’s not what you say but how you say it
  • Written Communication to the Public – How to effectively communicate information to the public
  • Employee to Employee Communication- Stopping the "Rumor Mill"
  • Customer Service – Begins even before you say Hello – Customer friendly attitudes, accommodations, policies and procedures, follow-up, providing other relevant information
